Uncle Sam Bakery is founded by Mr. Ong and it has been in operations for the last 10 years. It started operating in 2001 and is determine to run the business for many more years to come to generate more profits with the help of family members and workers.
When it first started, it has 3 workers which consisted of his brothers and 1 worker who helps around in the kitchen. The business is a family - owned business and Mr Ong wishes to pass down the business to his future generations.
The nature or business dealings of the bakery are mainly confectioneries and customized cakes as well as some ready-to-eat cakes. The bakery also sells variety of breads, cupcakes, jellies, Swiss rolls, tarts, cookies and party accessories as the owner determines to provide all needs of the customers. The bakery also takes in orders for customized cakes usually 2 days in advance before the delivery day.
The business initially faced some difficulties when it first started out as there are a lack of labor, location wise - far from public and there are a few competitors in the area too. Mr Ong later managed to overcome and withstand the difficulties during the lifespan of the business - all thanks to his loyal customers.
The bakery also provides delivery service to its customers with extra charges of between the range of RM 5 to RM 10 - depending on the location of the customers.
